Time to pull out your finest gowns and spruce up your most stunning bowties, the Fancy Gay Dress Party hits Halifax for the third year in a row on Saturday, March 19 at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront!

If you haven't experienced one of these fabulous events, now's your chance to find out what all the fuss is about. After a packed house last year, we've moved into the Nova Scotia Ballroom and hope to have even more of your fine glammed up selves partaking in the festivities.

Featuring special guest MC Stewart Legere, the comedic styles of Emma Cooper and music from the talented Ryan MacGrath, you are guaranteed good times and a memorable night.

To ensure those memories endure time and the cash bar, Timothy Richard and Ian Mullan will once again be sharing their creativity and snapping some crazy poses for facebook tagging (or untagging) mementos.

After the dinner, DJ Wolf will be charging up the dance floor till 1AM.

All the joys of getting gussied up for a fancy dinner without the boring stuff that usually goes along with it! Get your ticket now! We have a bigger room but tickets are going fast!

Emma Cooper

Picture
Emma likes talking. Rather than feel bad about monopolizing conversations one on one, she opted to grab a mic and monopolize conversations with many unsuspecting victims...*cough* comedy patrons. Multitasking baby, it's the best. With a head of hair to rival Justin Beiber, a heart full of snake oil and a smile that could knock the shell right off of a fast tortoise, this girl is taking the areas of HRM within biking distance or public transit by storm...and it ain't rainin' men. Emma has performed from coast to coast (as in only Vancouver and Halifax) and is part of the sensational sketch comedy sensation The Mind Diddlers. Emma can make your great aunt smile with a joke about the Queen's synthetic bloomers, your Facebook friend snort at her online antics and your hyena grin with a good antelope carcass pun. Stalk her on the Twitter Serengeti @emmacoopstar, 'Like' her in the Facebook world or throw slippers at her in real life. Whatever you choose, you should probably check out The Mind Diddlers online and at the Company House before she gets popular and ungracious.

Ryan MacGrath

Picture
Unconventional is a word that often gets used to describe Ryan MacGrath’s music. Likened to the theatrical pop melodies of Rufus Wainwright & Hawksley Workman, he applies magic in broad strokes into his songs, with lilting melody lines carrying his strong voice aloft. Also a visual artist, Ryan uses his music to paint landscapes, weave dreams, and sculpt tales from his experiences. Antigonish-born MacGrath recently collaborated with Gypsophilia  and Chantal Kreviazuk on his debut full-length album Cooper Hatch Paris.

Cooper Hatch Paris is a tip of the hat to old world romantics. With lush arrangements and rich instrumentation, MacGrath has crafted a gorgeous collection of songs filled with love, lust and longing. Ryan MacGrath always pushes boundaries in everything he does and this album is no exception. From the decision to use artwork people wouldn't expect from Nova Scotia (the androgynous  cover has received lots of attention) to mixing genres of music including pop, 50's-crooner, disco, jazz, soul and singer songwriter. With the voice of an acrobat and the musicianship of lion trainer, MacGrath is a ringmaster who was born to sing.

Ryan MacGrath has been nominated for three East Coast Music Awards, being held in Prince Edward Island in April. He’s up for Male Recording Artist of the Year, Rising Star of the Year and Alternative Album of the Year.

Catch him while you can! Ryan MacGrath is going places!
